  Designed a Quadruped Walking Robot with a unique leg design that does not employ actuators at each joint. It uses a single degree of freedom eight bar kinematic linkage mechanism that provides a planar motion allowing the leg to move in a fixed path, thus reducing control complexity of the overall robot and educing energy consumption. The mechanical linkage leg design was designed using fundamental principles of mechanism design. A numerical equation was generated and solved by MATLAB. The design was then simulated in MATLAB and based on the parameters obtained, a CAD model was generated using CATIA V5R20 and the complete design was made. This led to the development of a prototype that was fabricated and tested.
