They support the UVA Career Center mission by expanding the Career Center's ability to reach students through staffing office hours, giving outreach workshops, and supporting career community programs. CPEs strive to empower students to feel confident in their career development by equipping them with personalized resources and sharing relevant peer experiences.Career Peer Educators serve as ambassadors of the Career Center to the student body, and are trained by career counselors on various aspects of the career planning process – everything from interviewing and job search resources to resume and cover letter reviews – so that CPEs can offer one-of-a-kind advice as student leaders for their peers on almost any career-related topic. This will help aid those out-of-state and transfer students whose health insurance is not accepted by Student Financial Services. Collaborated directly with the Assistant Director of SFS to distribute twenty-four grants, totaling $74,342, to students in financial support. Secured $4 million for low-income students through a 4-year Grant Pilot Program. Includes a $500 stipend and the means to learn Tableau/data visualization skills.Description of program: This 5-week program is designed to provide undergraduate students the opportunity to take classes learning how to visualize data with Tableau and apply their skills working in teams with real-world data sets. Alumni and employer mentors will join the program to help guide students and participate in career exploration activities related to public health.
