  • Experience

    • Ultrasonic transducer resource center

      May 2011 - Aug 2011
      Undergraduate researcher

Contributed to a PhD student’s dissertation and published articles by fabricating PMN-PT-PZT composite thick films of different compositions on platinized silicon substrate using a composite sol-gel technique. Utilized x-ray diffraction analysis and scanning electron microscopy to study their ferroelectric properties and their impact on high frequency ultrasonic transducer applications. Also studied the effects of silver-doping on PMN-PT-PZT films, which showed them to be a promising alternative to piezoelectric films for very high frequency transducer applications. My research resulted in two publications for which I was a co-author. Show less

    • Institute for genetic medicine

      Jan 2013 - Aug 2013
      Undergraduate researcher

Trained to perform integral biochemical techniques and data analysis for a Post-Doctoral Research Associate. After receiving the Rose Hills Summer 2013 Fellowship awarding a $5000 stipend to fund research, formulated an independent project applying learned techniques to the study of the Werner protein. Techniques utilized include PCR, gel electrophoresis, pipetting, and imaging.

      Clinical research assistant

Recruited patients from the Emergency Department for important clinical research studies and developed invaluable interaction skills for working with people in sensitive or emotional states. Coordinated patients into appropriate research projects and conducted relevant surveys while shadowing emergency room attendants.

    • University of southern california

      Jan 2014 - May 2014
      Senior design project member

Completed a capstone project in which my team designed and prototyped a computerized athletic training product with a potential for commercialization, while meeting project deliverable deadlines and staying within budget. Researched and defined the market, target consumers, current standards, and regulatory constraints for a squat performance monitoring device. Identified and documented high level requirements, created use cases to extract functional requirements, and designed the product based on business processes. Finally, implemented the design in software and hardware using NI LabView and multiple sensors, and then performed validation testing in order to present a completed product at the Senior Design Expo.
