      Combat Engineer

As a veteran, I was honorably discharged from the US Army. I served in the 441st Engineer Company, in Millington, TN and was cross leveled to the 323rd in Spartanburg, SC to deploy to Afghanistan. As a 21B/12B I cleared routes and interrogated suspicious items that might be improvised explosive devices. I did this successfully for the nine months I was in Afghanistan with no injuries to myself or the comrades following me. I was appointed the be the lead husky driver a few months into the deployment. Once here I was the person up front making the judgement calls and responsible for not only choosing safe routes under stressful environments, but keeping in mind the size of the vehicles behind my vehicle and calling out any suspicious activity the local nationals might be doing.
