  - Working with Dr. Christopher Messer on understanding how organ and tissue physiology drives tissue development from single cell behaviors to larger morphogenetic movements. - We are also trying to understanding the developmental trajectories that allow individual cells to function in concert within the context of a tissue or organ that then serves a larger role within the organism. - We are using the fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster, as a multi-tissue model to investigate basic cell biological questions that contribute to successful tissue and organ function.- I am learning to dissect, create slides for further analysis of tissue, and how to utilize techniques and genetic crosses to achieve results for experiments.
