  I was assigned as a legal counsel on full-time bases for the Custody Services unit of Nordea in Finland. Nordea was the leading provider of custody services in the Nordic region at that time. Bank’s custody services were aimed at foreign professional investors dealing with Nordic or Baltic securities. Bank’s services consist of safekeeping and clearing of securities, income collection and tax services, corporate action and proxy services, clearing services for remote brokers, securities lending and reporting and information services.My primary tasks were to assist Custody Services department to enter into agreements with clients and service suppliers by negotiating legal solutions and to support business. In the course of my assignments, I gained experience in the Finnish securities market legislation, contract law, financial and trade law and private international law. I also got acquainted with relevant legislation regarding global custody business in Denmark, Norway and Sweden while acting as a responsible coordinator of the Global Custody Team. I developed a pan-Nordic Master Agreement in cooperation with my Nordic colleagues to be used for the custody and safekeeping of clients’ foreign securities in all Nordic countries.Due to my experience with money market instruments I was also acting as one of Nordea’s Registration Officers within RM system and I participated in lawyers’ working group assembled by the Finnish Central Securities Depositary.   I worked as Deloitte's in-house counsel and risk management expert in Reputation & Risk function of Internal Client Service unit responsible for all corporate legal matters of Deloitte & Touche Oy group of companies. I was a manager of the in-house legal and risk management team and I gained a strong foothold in various corporate, contractual and other legal matters relating to group's business activities i.e. services in the fields of auditing, consulting, tax advisory, risk management, M&A and corporate finance. I was deeply involved in the establishment of Deloitte Corporate Finance Oy including in applying the status of an authorized investment services firm for it, whereby I gained a lot of experience on how FIN-FSA supervises the operations and conduct of business rules of investment service providers.   I acted as a legal counsel leading one of the teams in Fondia’s M&A practice. My main tasks were marketing, selling, planning, coordinating and executing M&A projects, transactions and financing arrangements for the client companies.
