Since I was out, I offered a safe haven to gay men who’d had negative experiences in therapy with clinicians who were either overtly homophobic or shared micro-aggressions with their patients about lifestyle and professional choices. My ego-strengthening hypnosis techniques, custom-designed for use with gay men, focus on the unique issues of growing up and living in the world as a gay person. Drawing on my own experience as a gay man and my years of experience working therapeutically with gay men, I’ve developed a practical, holistic approach for therapists to help their gay clients experience fulfillment and happiness, giving attention to the unique ways gay men experience pain, their shared developmental challenges, and experiential opportunities to build comfort and alignment between mind and body. This optimal treatment mode primes therapists for helping gay clients achieve success. Show less

  Gay Sons and Mothers collects, curates, discusses, celebrates, and preserves narratives that educate, inspire, and bring hope to audiences around the globe by chronicling lived experiences of pain, joy, and persistence that inspire and provide a sense of hope.The emotional relationship between gay men and their mothers has been pathologized, idealized… and, surprisingly, largely unexplored. This project validates the significance of a mother’s role in her son’s life where, for many decades, she received little encouragement from others.We believe mothers and sons deserve to be honored through the stories they share.Storytelling helps people make sense of their world and learn how others faced challenges and grew stronger as a result. Gay Sons and Mothers is honored to join a proud tradition of preserving and passing along stories that reflect the strengths and struggles related to the formation of sexual identity and sexual expression in the context of the parent-child relationship. Our stories are powerful because they are transformative, and allow audiences to experience something profound. Show less
