Originally instructed to utilize individual space parking meters. Developed a plan to cut costs by using forward thinking technology and a pay by phone system; this was approved and adopted by City Council. This turned a projected $1,000,000 dollar first year loss into a profit. This is the first city in the nation to utilize this plan.Field Training OfficerResponsible for training new officers and instructing them on officer safety, scene management, information gathering, policy adherence, report writing, and charge selection. Field Training EvaluatorResponsible for monitoring the activities of officers and documenting training progression; making a recommendation whether or not the officer passed, failed, or needed remedial training. Sergeant - Patrol DivisionMonitored the day to day operations of officers assigned to my shift. Ensured that officers reported to duty on time with all necessary equipment. Responded to all major calls and created shift rosters, yearly calendars, evaluated reports, and ensured timecard software accuracy.       Currently the Chief Administrator of the City Marshal’s Office and responsible for various assignments as designated by the Deputy City Manager and City Manager. Responsibilities have included directing code, zoning, parking, and sanitation enforcement activities, project management, the auditing of departmental operations, ordinance creation and revision, contract negotiations, budget preparation, and new initiative development that regularly requires consultation and presentation to City Council. Previously a lieutenant with the Galveston Police Department and commander of the Internal Affairs Division, Records Division, Property Room, and Crime Scene Unit. Over 17 years of law enforcement and security experience, with extensive work in dignitary protection, major event security, tactical teams, investigations, policy creation, disaster response, media relations, and executive leadership. Dignitary Protection Coordinator for Michelle Obama, Bill Clinton, George H. W. Bush, George W. Bush, Secretary of Defense, Senators, Governor Perry, and Congressional members. Designated liaison for all local, state, and federal law enforcement assistance during and after Hurricane Ike.
