      Minor Economics

I studied micro and macro economics, as well as economics of poverty and discrimination, economics of developing nations, and history of economic thought. My research for economics of poverty and discrimination focused on gender, disability, and weight-related discrimination in employment. For history of economic thought I concentrated on traditional Marxism compared and contrasted with its offshoots (such as Stalinism, Leninism, Trotskyism, and Maoism).

http://thebearingproject.com/This non-profit organization represents the extreme burden that war forces all of humanity, but especially women, to bear, and seeks to share the stories of female war survivors, veterans, soldiers, and their family members who have had their lives radically altered by war. We in no way deny or discredit the sacrifices and suffering that men endure, we simply focus on a less heard and less understood aspect of violence. We ask for contributions of stories to help show the human stories behind armed conflict, financial contributions to help make the statue a reality, and donations of time to help us spread the word and reach as many people as possible. Through sharing, the continuation of oral history traditions, and the creation of the life size Bearing statue, we can reach out to those in need of healing, foster discussion, build relationships, and create a safe environment for humanity. If you would like to be involved, please visit our Facebook page and website, or contact any of the board members with questions. Please share this project so that we may reach and work with as many people as possible. If you have suggestions of organizations to contact, please let me know! The Bearing Project is apolitical; our focus on creating unity through empathy and understanding, so we ask that all contributions remain personal and avoid making a political statement. Show less
