  Process Engineering Internship

  • I undertook an internship at Dana Petroleum supporting the Engineering and Asset Integrity team. I worked on several projects, with the main project being a study to improve the performance of the Guillemot West separator on the Triton FPSO. This involved analysing the performance of the separator resulting in the identification that it was being operated out with the original design liquid levels. I then developed a trial for the offshore team to implement while monitoring the system response. Following this trial and with feedback from the onshore support team, I devised a new set of operating parameters for the separator, which on implementation, resulted in an improvement in its performance.• I also attended a series of process hazard review sessions which gave me an insight into how an engineering team collaborates to identify process hazards and identifies the best solutions to mitigate them.
