  I was in charge of the field operations for Katie Riley, who ran for State Representative in House District 29 of Oregon. I worked 80+ hours a week canvassing and helping other canvass voting citizens in the the district (Forest Grove, Hillsboro, and Cornelius). I recruited volunteers to help elect a new democratic leader. It was hard work but very rewarding.

  I interned for my local congressman Sam Farr at the Capitol. I toured constituents through the House of Congress, answered letters and delivered documents to other Congresspeople. I got a unique look into the inner-workings of Congress during Barack Obama's third year in office. At the time, the Democrats had lost the house and the political landscape of Obama's first term changed dramatically.

  Campaign Volunteer Coordintor

  I organized hundreds of volunteers to help get out the vote on the Repeal of Senate Bill 5, a restriction of bargaining rights for public employees in Ohio. We won the special election. It was a major win for firefighters, teachers and other employees of the state government. It was a unique look into the world of unions. Ohio is, needless to say, much different than that of California.
