Volunteered and organized small scale events for charities such as Cystic Fibrosis Trust and Habitat for Humanity. Became a leader and volunteer at a teenage girls summer sports camp which fund raised to financially support orphanages and schools in rural parts of several African countries.

      Large community of members who live on site using the restaurants and facilities as an extension of their own home. Member recognition and relations were a key part of my role and my inter-personal skills were imperative. Worked as part of a vast team to support the day to day operations of three restaurants available for members and their guests only. Responsible to be proactive in our approach to learning, passing several exams before we were permitted to work in the front of house operations. Alongside a team of international interns we reopened the Clubhouse after a huge refurbishment and helped to unpack then setup of the restaurant. This later became an opportunity to become involved with an upcoming refurbishment of the other restaurant and submit ideas to the management team for their consideration. Using my entrepreneurship I submitted a project of ideas and solutions which resulted in a gradual shift in the corporations view on sustainability and the environment. This position taught me team working skills to a new level as we lived and worked with one another, although it was also crucial to be self-motivated in order to be recognized. Show less

      Worked in a customer service environment in an extremely exclusive members-only golf club in the Hamptons. Built up a rapport and developed strong relationships with our members as they would have utilized the club's facilities several times a week. In order to meet sales targets, I had to be assertive and confident while remaining polite and efficient to their needs. The position inspired me to continue working very hard in order to achieve similar success in my own profession. As well as working within food and beverage, I interned throughout the business in several departments including, administration and general and the accounts department Within these positions I was the first point of contact for our members on any issues or queries they had, and had to remain calm and friendly, omitting a positive attitude to be as helpful and informative as possible. As it was a seasonal position and I had a visa stipulating the dates I could work to the position was complete after 6 months at the company.       During my time on this privately owned Super Yacht I worked within a small tight-knit team, where responsibilities were shared between us. I undertook training and one to one lessons in leadership, maritime legislation, accountancy on board and organisation of relevant documentation as well as regular updates to the documentation. As part of a long term goal I made a document to standardise the procedures on board and helped to train any new additions to the team, both within the interior and in regards to safety, fire training and medical training we would undertake together as a team. We spent 8 months of the 2 years living in a shipyard and essentially living onsite as we were required to wear hardhats at all times on deck and live on the boat while it was in the dry dock and accessible only via scaffolding. I developed a good relationship with the shipyard management and created a document regards to their waste management systems in terms of how it could be improved and more practical for the end user, as we were also the client and paying for the service. Show less I was living and working onboard a private super yacht as the engines underwent serious repair within a shipyard. As the boat was winterised my role was mostly attending to essential works in the interior and partaking in regular safety, medical and fire training with the rest of the crew. I absorbed the responsibilities of the other positions within the interior team as the manageress was on leave throughout my employment onboard. I orchestrated interior training, AVIT training, service training and completed regular housekeeping responsibilities. I was in a first hand medical emergency in this position and dealt with it in a calm manner. Show less
