      Work in conjunction with MNIT (Minnesota IT Services for the State of Minnesota) for any software or technology that may be allocated to correctional education facilities around the State of Minnesota and on their education network. Vetting of software programs, creation of processes for new programs, brainstorming of what new technologies would best serve our programs and student population at the ABE, career technical and higher educational levels. Exercise supervisory authority to ensure that applicable labor agreements and plans are equitably administered, and that education program area employees are effectively performing assigned job duties to achieve the objectives of the Operations Unit. Supervise and coordinate academic and career technical education, supervise academic and career technical instructors, library and law library, and other education programming in accordance with established administrative philosophy and the DOC Education Unit mission, vision and strategic plan, to insure that adequate, updated and pertinent options are available for, and will meet the education needs. Exercise supervisory authority to ensure that applicable labor agreements and plans are equitably administered, and that education program area employees are effectively performing assigned job duties to achieve the objectives of the Operations Unit. To the extent that resources allow, use current computer technology to provide an expanded, more comprehensive and efficient curriculum to a broader base of the offender population. Serve as the liaison and contract supervisor between MCF-SHK and contract providers (and volunteers) so that offender needs are met and outside services are coordinated and carried out in concert with institution policies and procedures.
