A peer mentoring transition program focusing on helping incoming Pacific Islander American students at the University of Washington. I mentored students to help build a meaningful experience and foundation in order to succeed in college. A student-initiated college-access and retention program that partnered me up with first-generation and low-income students in Seattle area high schools to assist in the college admission process, financial aid process, scholarships, and to build awareness in schools for college-readiness. In association with the Philippine Women University, our course focused on the effects of post colonization and the impact it had on their educational system. Assisted in projects to improve living and education conditions in various local areas such as an orphanage, hostels, and smaller village schools.
