  Independent researcher

  I conducted self-funded research into local fashion brand loyalty and rejection in the saturated and globalised Singapore market. This involved exploring small fashion designers’ development, representation, and positioning, along with consumer perception, behaviour and non-adoption. The process included the recruitment and interviewing of participants (trade representatives, designers, media), and research design and implementation (telephone interviews and depth interviews).

  One year fixed-term post devising and managing educational, creative and marketing projects within an arts education charity. I delivered a series of creative and marketing workshops with young people. I set up and managed an innovative education project in schools and youth centres, and oversaw all digital, print, communications, media relations, design, and organisational rebranding areas, plus strategy and partnership development.

  I set up an advisory and mentoring scheme where I have worked with undergraduates, graduates, and early stage fashion and creative SMEs support their marketing, business start up and development. Participants have included: Aruna Seth, luxury footwear brand; Eth-Co, ethical fashion boutique; Laura D’ Handcrafted Bags, designer-maker; Vendula, fashion accessories retailer; Zekaryas Soloman, menswear designer; plus several students from London Metropolitan University, undergraduate fashion marketing entrepreneurs.   I work in partnership with the above organisations to deliver support for creative and fashion SMEs (start-up, and pre-start-up). I provide specialist one-to-one business development and marketing advice, and business mentoring for clients. Also, I develop and deliver marketing seminars and tailored workshop sessions.

  Associate lecturer ma strategic fashion marketing, ma fashion entrepreneurship

  I teach students in lectures, seminars and individual tutorials, and undertake assessment, feedback and moderation, plus Contextual Studies teaching across the business cluster. I assisted the MA Strategic Fashion Marketing Course Director with course administration of the Project Proposal unit, its assessment, referrals, and dissertation preparation. I also work as a Dissertation Supervisor across both programmes. To date, my subject specialism within fashion spans: digital marketing and engagement; entrepreneurship, strategy, and internationalisation; and research methodology and design (qualitative).
