    • Greystones Public House, Sawtry

      Jan 2007 - Sept 2012
      Chef/Catering Assistant

My main role is to prepare any food orders placed during a shift, and I work as part of a team with the waitresses to ensure the highest quality food served is served to the customers. However, other duties can include waiting on the customers and helped to co-ordinate Buffets for over 100 people. I have also contributed towards creating “Specials” for the menu, which change on a regular basis. This experience has improved my ability to work under pressure and gained knowledge on current consumer trends in the catering industry. I was also responsible for stock counts and ordering too. I was responsible for operating busy shifts and organising people, cashing up tills, completing the log books, as well as training people to do their jobs to the best of their abilities and ordering stock.I was also a "tea champion", which involved me organising a trial for loose leaf tea in store and obtaining feedback. Other duties include making drinks, serving customers with service excellence, clearing tables and cleaning the store at the end of shifts. Show less

Temporary role in order to aid the store through the transition of appointing a new Assistant Manager and running the store in absence of the Manager during his holiday period. My role was to encourage and inspire the team to be successful in the smooth operation of the store, as well as being a part of the team myself. One of the main objectives of my appointment was to improve the customer service skills of the team, which was measured by obtaining formal feedback from paying customers.
