      Mar 2021 - Sept 2022
      Relief project worker

I was employed by the Peter McVerry Trust as a Relief Project Worker. I worked across a variety of homeless services in the Dublin area, primarily Supported Temporary Accommodation. I also worked in family hubs, step down services for adults exiting homelessness, and an aftercare service for young adults coming out of the foster care system. Each of these services came with differing sets of responsibilities. Across all of them, my primary duty was one of care. This involved hourly checks, preparing meals, and ensuring the environment was safe. I assisted in implementing support plans, harm reduction tactics, and individual crisis management plans. I also administered risk assessments and participant inductions.I liaised with external services, as necessary, for the benefit of the service users. This included Intreo offices, detox/rehabilitation centres, and educational facilities. Show less

      Recovery support worker

I was employed by Highfield Healthcare as a Recovery Support Worker (RSW), in their Specialist Rehabilitation Unit (SRU). My work on the SRU involved supporting service users (SUs) on a day-to-day basis to achieve the goals set out in their care plans. This was often focused on the development of independent living skills and supporting integration into the community. Along with the other RSWs, I co-facilitated group interventions and regular community outings. I attended regular MDT meetings to discuss the progress of SUs, and to liaise with other members of the team to best support the SU's. I made daily progress notes on the services online database. I also administered, or assisted in the administration of, standardised assessments, as part of my role.I completed a range of trainings in my this position, including MAPA, CPR, safeguarding, and Children's First. Assistant psychologist

St. Doolaghs Park Care and Rehabilitation Centre provides medium-long term care to adults with acquired brain injuries (ABIs). I worked with clients that are in the rehabilitation group. I assisted in the creation of goals, with my focus being mostly on mood, behaviour, and cognition. Within this, I created and maintain Positive Behaviour Support Plans (including ABC analyses of challenging behaviour), administered standardised assessments to assess cognition and wellbeing, administered cognitive 'training' (for attention and memory), amongst many other things. I also conducted 1:1 psychology support regularly, and facilitated several groups on a weekly basis, including: mindfulness, communication (for residents with aphasia), ABI education, and executive functioning.
