  The focus of my work was the investigation of new therapies against hepato-pancreato-biliary and gastric malignancies and standardization of clinically relevant animal models of pancreatic cancer. Since the search for efficacious anti-cancer therapies is limited by a relevant pancreatic cancer animal model, I devised and standardized an immunocompetent stroma rich mouse model of pancreatic cancer which can be used in translational studies. The findings of our study have been presented at major national surgical meetings (Digestive Disease Week, Academic Surgical Congress and the upcoming American College of Surgeons Clinical Congress). Currently I am researching potentially druggable stromal targets of pancreatic cancer and am in the process of standardizing a novel post-surgical tumor recurrence model of pancreatic cancer.
