  Senior quality lab technician

  Independently tested sealant components for physical properties such as viscosity, rheology, cure time, and adhesion. Modifications to in-line material were communicated to the manufacturing side of production to bring properties within required customer & ASTM specifications.Successful Six Sigma greenbelt project identified and reduced waste via statistical process control, saving the plant $75,000/year. This project was selected as a 2014 winner for quality projects within PPG.

  Design experiments for myself and collaborators to characterize catalytic nanomaterials at atomic resolution via electron microscopy (STEM) using in situ heating, gas, and/or liquid flow holders to determine structure dynamics. Analyze data and report material behaviors under stimuli at various conferences.Use spatial elemental mapping and oxidation states of catalysts via energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) and electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS) to discover new microscopic material behavior. Show less Performed instrument demonstrations when teaching general chemistry, organic chemistry, and analytical chemistry lab courses. Head TA of the general chemistry lab courses for one year. Guided 20 new TAs and customized the engineering students' lab course. Deployed and troubleshooted an online grading system for the lab final, increasing grading efficiency and administrative tasks related to grading. Survey of TAs indicated increased satisfaction with online grading compared to the previous handwritten methodology.Within two months, scripted and directed components of the virtual lab course videos upon UCI's pivot to virtual teaching in Fall 2019.
