  D-Chamber of Professional was a hardcore litigation specialised law firm based in Delhi. Herein, I also met Mr. Avi Kalra for the first; through whom I got my internship at Clergy & Wisemen.As an Intern, I was tasked with preparing judgement summary, synopsis for cases, submitting/ servicing of documents to various district courts and parties, checking court orders and preparing cause lists / schedules for upcoming court hearings. Writing summaries involves reading and understanding judgements and identifying the ratio, issue, conclusion and various laws / rules which the judgement affected, and convert in a consumable/presentable manner in order to help my supervisory associates quickly go through them quickly and effectively. In order to perform my tasks correctly I demonstrated superior communication skills through my drafts while applying my understanding of court procedures. For example, in one of the cases for which I was draftings a synopsis, there were five related cases with the current draft, wherein some of the them settled and some were still going on. I already knew that no particular format or template to draft a synopsis was compulsory. Hence, I used a flow charts in order to show the various various cases and labeled them with their different dates of settlements if applicable. Furthermore, I created a tabulated list of dates and events in chronological order for better understanding of the issues and previous related cases. As a result, I was appreciated and also secured a future internships through colleagues I met at the firm. Show less

  Law Offices of Madhavan Srivatsavan is a individual venture started by a former Partner of Desai & Diwanji, Mr. Madhavan Srivatsava, who specialises in Merger & Acquisition.Herein, my major responsibility was legal research and due-diligence; during the 40 days of my internship I researched and analysed various provisions, circulars, amendments, policies, clauses, practical scenarios, and solutions, relating to Company Law including buyback of shares, dividend rights, board meetings and general meetings, Conducted Due-Diligence on Insurance Policies and all Registers maintained by the company for the purpose of Acquisition, Drafted a Legal Notice for Infringement of Trademark, Examined and understood the working of Information Security Management System licenses (as per guidelines of International Standardisation Organisation), various insurance policies, and basic structuring of agreements including Trademark Licensing Agreements.Working in so many diverse practice areas allowed me to develop an understanding of various of law and allowed to demonstrate adaptation skills. which involved for example, working on a company law related research and which was interrupted with another urgent research in areas of trademark and then switching back to the company law, and so on. Going back-and-forth on various research assignments, not only developed my ability to handle diverse workloads but also made me more comfortable at working in a corporate environment. It also made me consider the chain reaction of the conclusion of my research on our the clients, my senior, her seniors and other parties to the transaction, which further helped me determine the commercial intent of parties. Herein, I was working at the Greater Kailash office and was responsible for assisting the partners in there day-to-day work. Here, I worked at both Corporate and Litigation related tasks. In corporate areas, I assisted in drafting SAAS Agreement, Vendor Agreement, Employment Agreement, Service Agreement, Privacy Policy etc. and on the Litigation side, I visited various District courts of Delhi for filing purposes and accompanied the partners in client meetings. Being exposed to such a variety of work taught me to cope up with work-pressure and it allowed me an opportunity to show resilience.For example, at a point in my internship I was tasked with visiting the courts in the morning to submit few documents to be serviced through the court and I had come to office in the afternoon and finish the draft of employment agreements which was to be sent on the same day. There was travel fatigue and I wasn't able to concentrate, however, took the decision to have a coffee which allowed me to push through fatigue and finish the draft in-time.
