The work that went into this honor accrued over the entirety of my high school career has helped me grow. As some may be aware, one of the most challenging tasks that must be completed is the "Eagle Project". This is a project organized, funded and planned by the perspective youth to help or contribute to the community. The project that I chose involved a copious amount of planning, time and organization. The Stone Ridge Assisted Living Center in Mystic CT was in need of two new bridges, a flight of stairs and the revamp of an overgrown trail. The need arose after a flood and an accident of an elderly women falling down the hill on a walk. I was able to plan and complete this task in 4 weekends with the support of my family and the Boy Scout troop. Nine individuals and I worked for a total of 288 man hours. When the project was completed the local newspaper wrote a story on the work done by those who helped me. I truly believe that this is one of the best experiences and one of my greatest achievements.
