  The degree included introducing students to understanding children on a physical, emotional, and psychological level. This degree also exposes students to curriculum content, the South African curriculum. On a school-based level, it includes how to perform assessments that are CAPS aligned, how to plan lessons that appeal to the learner's different cognitive levels.

  Activities and Societies: As I was working full-time and my classes were part-time. I did not get the opportunity to participate in the activities of societies of the this establishment. This degree was a part-time degree, which meant that I attended classes every second Friday from 14:00 - 18:00. The degree is centered around preparing it's learners for entering into a master degree. The modules of this degree prepare learners to write a thesis on a chosen topic.

  Activities and Societies: Online school. There were no activities and societies. This TEFL course is online based and requires that students actively participate in prerecorded videos and do assignments online. Toward the end of the course, it becomes more difficult as you are assessed on your abilities to plan a successful lesson to non-English speakers. These assignments were very in-depth and strictly assessed.

  Activities and Societies: The university is a correspondence university, therefore they did not provide these sorts of facilities. UNISA is an online correspondence university. Throughout my degree most of my courses and study material were through an online platform, Although all the assignments had to be submitted in hard copy through a designated mailing service. My exams were written every semester at Heatfelt Arena.
