      Jul 2015 - Mar 2017

As Staff Scientist, I gained experience on a variety of commercial and industrial sites and with the Washington State Department of Ecology on a remedial action project for various residential properties in the state of Washington. The projects required knowledge of hazardous/contaminated waste and procedures (Model Toxics Control Act) to respond to existing contaminated sites and developing situations, such as spills. Supported remedial actions through soil sampling, stormwater monitoring, preparation of environmental monitoring and planning reports (e.g. stormwater pollution prevention plans; spill prevention, control, and countermeasures plans; and health and safety plans); and provided field reports documenting site conditions. As part of these responsibilities, I have also gained experience in logging soil and sediment borings including soil classification and field screening.I have experience completing Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, permit applications for maintenance and development projects (e.g. SEPAs, JARPAs, shoreline applications, etc.), site investigation proposals, and administrative reporting for multiple projects.
