  I was responsible for doing initial mental health assessments on crisis stabilization clients within the first 24 hours of their arrival at the Central Receiving Center. I would record data, stressors, history and suggest preliminary mental health diagnoses as well as needed safety precautions which served as a starting point for Doctors, Nurses and other Staff. By nature of my proximity to mental health and substance abuse crisis clients, I was often required to verbally deescalate and/or non-violently physically intervene when clients became irrational and/or out of control. On top of those duties, I was also responsible for keeping track of the client census, bed count, bed placement on units, insurance precertifications, and working with hospitals on both transfers in and out based on criteria.   In September 2013 my husband and I moved from Orlando, FL to Collins, MS after my husband was offered a position here. I have been fortunate enough to not need to work while I spend my time creating a home, volunteering and honing my photographic skills as well as building relationships with my 6 furry companions.

  Southern Pines Animal Shelter Pet Photography Project

  I volunteer at least 3 days per month to take personality portraits of homeless and otherwise unwanted shelter animals. I usually spend 1-2 hours photographing animals in natural light before coming home to cull and edit images for anywhere between 2 and 4 additional hours. The final edited images are posted into an album on the SPAS PPP page where locals can view available animals and get detailed information on the ones they are interested in. I also had the pleasure of photographing the shelter's annual event, the Fur Ball. I was able to capture candid images of the decor, food, auction items, staff, volunteers and attendees. Show less
