  Storm Study Association Sustainability Sciences

  As Board Member of Storm, my five fellow Board members and I were responsible for the daily functioning of our association. Storm has over 1100 members, 24 active committees (of which I was personally responsible for three) and organises three to four activities a week. Our activities include social activities, but also many excursions, career-related activities and trips and weekends, during all of which we were ultimately responsible for the well-being of our members. As Commissioner of Educational Affairs I was responsible for the contact between the university and the Association. Additionally, I represent the student perspective in the Bachelor Management Team of the Department of Sustainable Development of Utrecht University and in the Global Sustainability Sciences Track Coordinator meetings. Furthermore, I organised the Sustainable Development Master Day, which showcased over 35 Master programmes from all Dutch Universities to our members. Finally, I contributed to writing the student chapters for the re-accreditation process of the BSc Global Sustainability Sciences and the MSc programmes Sustainable Development and Water Science and Management.   I represented the study associations of the Faculty of Geosciences in the StudieVerenigingenRaad (SVR). The SVR is an umbrella organisation for study associations at the UU that defends their interests and facilitates contact and the exchange of knowledge between associations. Throughout this year, we worked towards a more just subsidy system for associations in collaboration with policy makers of the University, and tried to give attention to the wellbeing of board members by organising theme evenings for Boards of study associations, for example about mental wellbeing and burnout prevention.   Teaching Assistant Global Integration Project

  I was involved with the course Global Integration projects, where students develop transformation pathways towards a sustainable future for a specific country and human activity. In this role, I workedtogether with an Assistant Professor to guide tutorials and give feedback on the students’ papers, and I attended weekly meetings with the teaching team about developments within the course.
