      Bachelor of Science - BS Biology Distinction

      Specialising in plant biology, my degree covered environmental issues, scientific complexity, project report writing and interdisciplinary research. We collaborated with other groups, giving rich and diverse answers to challenges including clean drinking water, carbon sequestration, soil erosion and Great Barrier Reef bleaching.

      Although I did not complete this degree, I thoroughly enjoyed my time studying through distance education. After one year, I had many amazing experiences, but I had found that the course was just not for me.

      Working on our family farm has helped me develop many practical skills - using fencing equipment, bush regeneration, animal care and husbandry, operating heavy machinery, chainsaws, and riding motorbikes. Who knew reversing trailers was so hard?I have also helped ecologists monitor Regent Honeyeaters (Anthochaera phrygia) on our property.
