      Research Intern

      As a research intern, I led the development, design, and modeling of a ground-up Ultrasonic Assisted Drilling setup, integrating CNC for the experimental setup. Employing metallic 3-D printers with SLM technology, I manufactured specimens for subsequent evaluation. The evaluation of the specimens were done through rigorous assessment, including analysis of cutting forces through dynamometer measurements, chip morphology via FESEM technology, and surface topology and roughness using profilometer and 3D microscope techniques. Additionally, I conducted extensive Finite Element Analysis simulations, specifically focusing on modal analysis and stress profile generation, using Ansys. The culmination of these efforts resulted in a research publication, presenting the project's outcomes and insights to the wider engineering community. Show less
