  Internship at Staatsgalerie Stuttgart in Stuttgart Germany

  I completed the entire internship speaking the German language to submerge myself in the language and culture. I studied the prints of Matthias Merian, Lucas Kilian, William Hogarth, and Max Beckmann and cataloged their work. I researched the originals to determine the title, technique, and state of each, and created both a paper and computer archive of each artist.I helped the graphic restoration department to prepare a new exhibition, "Private Artwork featuring Munch, Nolde, Beckmann...from Southern Germany." I learned about framing, recognizing damages, restoration methods, proper packaging, and handling. I also learned how to write a protocol for each piece of art, helped set up the exhibition, and attended the press conference.I toured the kilk-screen printing firm, Franz Kicherer to learn the process, limitations, and possibilities for both the artist and the reproduction staff.I also compiled work from the collection for different special showings, including a group of students focusing on modern etching techniques. While there I also studied artists, their work and the current collection on display in the museum. Show less

  I worked as a graphic designer during the summer for a local sign company and designed logos, signage, wraps, and other marketing materials. I prepared files for printing and studied the silk-screen and vinyl printing process.
