  In the two weeks I spent working here I got to know the basics of working in Law and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I looked at several cases and found it all very interesting. The Environment was extremely different from school life and I was lucky enough to be involved in some of their work.

  I had work experience at Tower Hamlets Finance Department. It was a great experience to be in the midst of a working environment seeing what everybody has to do and what I will hopefully be doing in the future. Throughout the week I spent time with the payments team, management accounting team, leaseholder's team and the rents team. With these teams I was able to see how everything was done, from the simple invoices all the way to budget monitoring reports. From my time spent in the finance department I had the opportunity to see the way a finance department works on a day to day basis through to the way it works on a strategic level. As a result of this experience I also learnt some technical skills while working with the software they used in the department such as Agresso which seemed to be the most useful. I had a very good understanding of how to work my way through the systems that were used. I also found this a useful insight to just the life of work and the environment of a workplace. Show less
