      This was my first tele-sales role, as having been interested in the customer service role. I took this opportunity, & role as I had just come from River Island, working on the shopfloor, dealing with customers face to face. When the opportunity arose I thought it would be a good career challenge, & maybe further develop my skills. I started of working as a renewals advisor so when customers were due a renewal or wanted to cancel, I had to use my skills & personality, whilst using company discounts to get the customer to renew with us for the year.       I worked at DLG as a home insurance sales advisor, my main roles were to set up & provide home insurance policies for customers. As DLG is the main underwriter for many companies, I was just working under the umbrella,& my main companies were RBS, Natwest, Nationwide, Prudential, Sainsburys & Ulster bank.       Just recently started my new position as the Sales Co-Ordinator, at the Avonmouth Bristol branch, having come from a call centre (insurance) based background, I had no real experience in this previous industry. However using my previous sales experience I have managed to use my current skills, as well as learning with a very successful team & branch around me. I am looking to be with the company for a number of years, as this is best place for me to grow with a career, as well as fantastic company ethics & benefits!       I currently work in the Service Department of the National Trading Hub. This involves liaising with branches & customers to make sure orders go out correctly. We also have to make sure the pricing & information provided is sufficient, also dealing with many customers on a day to day basis. This role can be very challenging but with experience everything becomes a lot easier. Standard lines keyed for an average month would be about 1000lines per colleague so accuracy has to be exceptional. Working in a plumbing & heating company the importance of missing one item can have devastating effects for a customers property.       I've now been in this role for 3 months! Learning everyday as this is my first driver role. I have now got a basic knowledge of picking, loading of materials. I have also taken part in off loading & on loading of plant vehicles. As someone who comes from a very customer service & sales background, I have enjoyed the face to face aspect of this role. Being a delivery driver also ensures that you make sure your day is planned time effective. Dealing with customers on site, enquiring about new projects whilst building rapport. The customer service aspect comes into play as you may have to park in inconvenient spaces, so dealing with outside interference whilst ensuring the delivery is done in a safe manner. I enjoy this role, but hopefully in due course be going back to a sales role within the near future. Show less
