  In my role as a chiropractic assistant, I have various responsibilities that improve the patient experience at our office. My primary duties consist of recording S.O.A.P. style notes into the EMR for our chiropractors during patient visits, as well as leading and supporting patients with their therapeutic exercises. I am also comfortable with administrative duties such as checking-in and scheduling patients, as well as verifying insurance information. I have learned to adapt quickly in this position while maintaining a positive attitude and taking initiative.   I was a medical scribe in both Otology and Stem Cell Transplant departments. In this role, I prepared patient chart notes ahead of time with relevant tests, imaging, and history. During the visit, I practiced active listening to update the chart with the patient history and physician's exam findings. I worked directly with physicians to discuss patients' care in order to learn and create the most accurate, detailed chart notes.

  Floating Doctors is a medical NGO that organizes mobile medical clinics for 20+ communities in the Bocas del Toro region of Panama. These communities lack geographic and economic access to healthcare, with the majority of our patients living in extreme poverty. In my role, I place medication and supply orders, communicate with donors and our medical team, and lead volunteers to pack medications and supplies for each clinic. I also attend clinics where I check patients in and translate English-Spanish for medical providers. Show less
