  During this time, I worked as a Spanish tutor for elementary students looking during the COVID Pandemic. I worked one-on-one with students to curate specialized lesson plans based on where they were with their Spanish proficiency.

  After completing my summer internship at Kids Discovery Station, I was brought onto the team as a full-time staff member. We worked on events and activities for the grand opening of the first children's museum in Merced. Throughout the rest of my time here, I also was tasked with preparing lesson plans for field trips dependent on students' grade level and teaching standards. I was also a part of the event planning committee where I created special event days based around cultural and national holidays. Show less

  Research Intern

  In this position I developed skills in research, networking, and career development. I gained hands-on experience conducting a research project on a topic in HIV/AIDS and substance abuse disorders working with data collected from a parent study. I learned how to code qualitative data as well as how to conduct quantitative data analysis. During my time in D.C., my research mentor introduced me to new coding software as well as how to create surveys on RedCap.
