      Chief of Police – duties include coordinating, planning, organizing, directing, staffing, and budgeting for the entire police department. The chief of police is responsible for administering all actions of the police department in accordance with the City Charter and Connecticut General Statutes. Deputy Chief of Police – duties include coordinating the patrol, detective, and administrative divisions of the department in addition to planning, organizing, directing, staffing, and budgeting for the police department. Division Commanding Officer (3IC of the department). Duties include managing the investigation of serious crimes, death investigations, processing and documenting crime scenes, and disposition of physical evidence. Additional duties include managing the training division of the agency, member of the state computer crimes task force, and commanding officer SCUBA/URT. Duties include investigating felony criminal offenses, processing, documenting, photographing, and reconstructing crime scenes. Additional duties include collection and processing physical evidence and latent fingerprint examination and comparison.
