Mar 2007 - Oct 2010Customer ServiceWhen I worked in the shipping company, my job is to make sure my clients maintain to trust their goods by using the services of our company.As a customer service (CS) I was obliged to master the stage of dealing with clients, providing containers and space on board, controlling the long charging items to containers at the warehouse and travel from the warehouse to the port, make sure the container is up to the board and make a report to the duty and then to send the bill of lading to the state that importers the goods and ensure containers received by the consignee without any complaints. All of this process require the detailed attention of the each step.Being a CS in a shipping company is a lesson that help me tremendously in terms of communicating with clients both orally / direct and in writing / emails. As a guest relations officer (GRO) I ensures that guests agree that they have done the right thing by choosing our hotel to stay at. The concern is especially to the regular guest whom has chooses the hotel I work at as the destination for their every visit. I tried my best to give each guest a personal recognition. Although this is an obligation, I enjoyed the bit of surprise and pride on their faces when I greets them by their names.I reviews the arrival list daily and assists in preparing and distributing welcome amenities. I'm also in charge to escort VIPs to their rooms and check them in before their arrival. I attends promptly to customers' inquiries and assists them with their needs. When it comes to complaints, I will listen to the guest and then provides solutions to their issues or concerns, if I couldn't take the decision directly, I will follow up this case directly to my supervisor or manager so the complaints could be handle and guest are satisfied that we treat their issues as priority to be solved a.s.a.p. On every of my shift I've also allowed to checked few random rooms and then write the reports in the logbook in order to keep the standardization of the rooms and if there are any shortages or damage, it can be immediately identified and corrected / repaired.Logs the day's activities in a logbook is a must to ensure that the next person on duty is familiar with everything that needs extra attention. My job description was also to promotes all the facilities of the hotel and knows the surrounding areas when asked for directions. Being a GRO thought me to be familiar with the best places to tour, shop and dine in case our guests will ask about it. In addition I also mastered how to check in and check out as I learn and help receptionist in case they're busy and need a hand. Show less
