  Purchased and renovated a 9,000sf 1867 Italianate structure • Drew all documents, project-managed, coordinated, and punch-listed all trades, managed all disbursals and invoicing, was responsible for all interior design and purchasing, and performed some carpentry and millwork. Converted it into an inn and restaurant.• Purchased and renovated the 3,500sf 1850’s Federal style building next door in 2003, opening it as a luxury spa and salon. Brand was expanded into two other renovated salon and spa locations in Dubuque. • Expanded into Galena, Illinois with the renovation of a 12,000sf 1850’s coaching inn that housed seven apartments and two restaurants over three floors. • Purchased and renovated an 1880’s residence/former funeral home for the City of East Dubuque to use as City Hall. This 3,300sf project was renovated for their needs. A handful of adjacent houses were also purchased and renovated to use as rentals. Show less

  Moved several houses from a “greenfield” project, guided them through the Historic Preservation Commission approvals, redesign, placement on new foundations, addition of upper stories, cost tracking, bids soliciting and review, purchasing, and overseeing all construction phases. Also installed cabinetry, appliances, and lighting, and finished woodwork. Won the Ken Kringle Preservation Award from the City of Dubuque for one of the houses, 1300 Walnut.
