  As part of the Young Enterprise Challenge, I, along with other students from Southland Girls High School created the start up company Smell of Southland.The process involved creating and pitching a business plan, creating the product (liquid hand soap) and selling it over the course of the year. Not only did our business make a profit, but we also won the Southland Young Enterprise Company of the Year award.In my role as General Manger I applied my leadership skills, abilities to work within a team environment.   Quality Assurance Officer for Chinese Exports

  At Alliance I was employed to correct issues and problems within the system of operations at the loading end of the warehouse. In this role I completed many admin/ office functions, as well reducing error related costs and minimizing the damage to product as it was being loaded for export. I developed my excellent observation skills for detecting these errors, along with being able to put my computer and paper work skills to use in export documentation.

  Reduction, Line 2 Crew member as a result of a Tertiary Scholarship.In my time as a vacation student at Tiwai, I learnt to work in adverse conditions, including extreme heat, night shifts, and physically demanding, hands on tasks. I gained a strong focus on health and safety and team work as a result of my experience in the smelter.This was invaluable experience where I could apply my people skills and time management while working under in a team in a variety of departments. I spent majority of my time in Reduction, but also around Metal Products, and Human Resources department (HR). Show less
