I joined Kopkop College in 2012. I joined the school as an ordinary classroom teacher. I got promoted to the Deputy Principal Secondary position at the start of Term 3 2012.As the Deputy Principal Secondary, I am tasked to oversee the Curriculum implementation, compile assessment, do lesson timetabling, exam schedules and supervisions, coordinate the In-School Staff In-services or trainings.I perform inspectoral duties, as the Site Manager to oversee and manage new teacher graduates for their teacher Registrations. I compile the reports and submit them to the Senior Standards Officers to be presented at the National Teacher Ratings (NTR) for endorsement and registration.I also carry out teacher appraisals at the end of every six months to make sure that the teachers under my jurisdiction follow, embrace and implement the curriculum to meet and achieve the expected standrads and their outcomes. Failing to comply to meet standards results in the teacher being asked to leave at the end of the school year.Further-more, assist in the screening and recruitment of secondary school teachers. For the practical sessions, we had to go through about ten different obstacles as team. The practical sessions were a real test because they tested the mental abilities of individual members and as a team to solve and to find resolve in each other to take on next challenge or abstacle.
