  For almost a year, I worked on several projects directed towards internal enhancements for Factset's News application. I analyzed XML files from several vendors to assess the current internal tagging process in order to make recommendations to improve search capabilities for users of Factset News. This software enhancement project also involved mapping various global stock exchange identifiers into a JSON file, enabling the programming team to enhance uniformity of stock exchange identifiers. I also successfully established communications to gather vendor-specific financial news codes as part of a subject tagging enhancement project. I implemented a code in Visual Basic to aggregate data from multiple vendor files into one comprehensive data table consisting of 13,000+ vendor categories that allowed me to complete data aggregation in two days versus weeks if compiled manually. Further, I had the flexibility to explore technical tools like SQL Express, Anaconda (Python) and Sublime to expedite project completion. Show less
