  Worked on the final year project, during under graduation, sponsored by the company bearing the title of Efficient and Flexible Controlling of Heliostat (Plane Mirror) for Solar Thermal Generation using LDR as light sensing device.Solar energy can be converted into thermal energy to run steam turbine in a solarthermal power plant. This task is performed by efficient convergence of solar radiationsutilizing accurate positioning of concave mirrors.The position of sun is changing continuously, so the concave mirrors have to maintain aconstant focal point at which the boiler is installed.The concave mirrors are moved using controller interfaced stepper motor in order toconcentrate the sun energy at its maximum level.In order to detect the correct position of the sun image processing is utilized. It is a flexible and accurate method to locate sun and generate signals to reposition the mirrors with respect to the position of the sun.A simulation of the process will be designed using SimPowerSystem.
