  Coordinator for the FOCUS program, a cohort based co-educational program for 78 students from underrepresented backgrounds in STEM at Carleton College.Served as academic mentor for all students in program. Supervised 10-20 work-study students quarterly.Developed programming to facilitate community by organizing visiting speakers, research conferences and weekly study breaks (Cookies and Conversation). Directed term long student research projects for both First-year and Sophomore cohort. Created the FOCUS website and developed quarterly newsletters (digital and print).Evaluated program in conjunction with the Science and Education Research Center (SERC); involved focus-group sessions with cohorts, pedagogy research related to underrepresented student higher ed. persistence, and qualitative research, culminating in two year-end reports on the program’s impact on student persistence in STEM and goal setting for moving the program forward, with particular emphasis on program expansion in response to a million dollar NSF grant.Recruited second first-year cohort and incoming Class of 2021 students, implementing the first year of a 4-year NSF funded plan to double program capacity.
