  In August 2023, I embarked on an ambitious journey with Dr. Kathryn Nelson's BioWRAP Project at Kansas State University, leveraging my GIS expertise to drive innovations in sustainable agriculture. This project, aimed at reducing the agricultural sector's reliance on plastics and herbicides, presented a perfect platform for applying and enhancing my GIS skills.My Contribution:As the lead in Suitability Modeling for Biodegradable Mulch Production Facilities, I utilized my GIS and Remote Sensing knowledge to:Identify optimal locations for production facilities by conducting detailed GIS analyses, considering factors like sustainability, accessibility, and environmental impact.Employ advanced GIS techniques to ensure the strategic placement of infrastructure, significantly boosting the project's efficiency and effectiveness.Contribute to a groundbreaking bioplastic system designed for enhanced weed management, nutrient delivery, soil health, and water conservation.This project not only allowed me to apply my GIS skills in a real-world setting but also to contribute to significant advancements in reducing environmental impacts in agriculture, pushing forward the boundaries of sustainable practices globally. My role underscores my commitment to leveraging GIS for environmental stewardship and sustainable agriculture. Show less Played a pivotal role in the research project "Evaluating Energy Burden at the Urban Scale: A Spatial Regression Approach," under the esteemed Dr. Angela Park, Dr. Rachel Krause, and Dr. Christopher V. Hawkins, with a focus on leveraging GIS for social science research.Led the GIS component, employing advanced spatial analysis and mapping techniques using ArcGIS to examine urban energy burden, showcasing expert-level proficiency in GIS software and spatial data analysis.Utilized a variety of spatial regression methods, including ordinary least squares regression, geographically weighted regression (GWR), and multiscale geographically weighted regression (MGWR), highlighting the capability to handle complex spatial data and contribute innovative GIS solutions to geographical research.Demonstrated exceptional GIS skills in spatial data processing, analysis, and visualization, significantly advancing the understanding of spatial patterns of energy burden and providing actionable insights for policy and planning.
