The aim of this study is to determine the traffic characteristics of the Ankara-Polatlı state highway in terms of traffic flow, speed, and density and to analyze the relationship between these traffic characteristics. In the research I:•Collected traffic data such as vehicle transit data and time, vehicle type, direction of movement, speed, and lane recorded from 2013 to 2021 with 80 camera systems established by the General Directorate of Highways (GDH).•Created a study database from the collected data•Evaluated and analyzed the traffic characteristics of the section, the change of these characteristics, and their relations with each other.
