I replaced, troubleshot, disassembled, adjusted, repaired, and modified parts in accordance with oral instruction and work orders to include maintenance work orders requiring new parts. Typical work included troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues to locate broken or damaged parts and wiring using multiple tools to include multi-meters, test gauges, inspection cameras, circuit finders, on-board diagnostic scanners, and computer aided diagnostic tools via the appropriate technical manual and supporting diagrams. I took initiative to get assignments completed above and beyond normal responsibilities. I often supervised marines and directed them in planned assignments. I interpreted instructions daily to complete tasks proficiently and innovatively when necessary. I organized schedules for daily, weekly and monthly work load and deadlines; this included reviewing work schedules and paperwork to make sure no errors were present. I managed supply for the daily work schedule. I directed and assisted other mechanics with HVAC&R systems, Freon recovery, and repair as necessary. I was responsible for regularly instructing new workers on how to work on equipment and gave aid when necessary. My duties included understanding rules regarding purchasing requirements while ordering parts and contracting for equipment repair. I had to document work completed on a daily basis. I was responsible for completing daily tasks quickly and efficiently while upholding a professional stature. I often planned work for and managed a team of up to 12 Marines conducting maintenance operations, and ensured that those Marines operated in accordance with safety policies. Show less

      Maintenance Mechanic

I maintained 10,528 acres of protected prairie in support of the recovery of an endangered species. I plan, schedule, and coordinate the maintenance of 11 vehicles, both 2 and 4 wheel drive, gas or diesel, 5 UTVs, 2 ATVs, and 8 pieces of heavy equipment with attachments to include farm tractors, excavator, bucket loader, and skid steer used to take care of the refuge, as well as operate farm tractors, excavator, skid steer, bucket loader, d-4 dozer, and a motor grader daily. I have a Class A CDL, used to transport farm equipment when necessary, utilizing DOI/FWS standards for load securement and equipment tie-down. Besides my own maintenance duties, I managed various workers and volunteers weekly. Since I was the expert for maintenance on the refuge, I supervised interns and volunteers and provided them with planned projects that needed to be completed. Show less

    • National Park Service

      Nov 2018 - now

I currently manage the Maintenance and Grounds of Sandy Hook National Park, 16.1 miles of shoreline, 4,688 acres of land, approximately 5.5 miles of MUP trail for visitor's usage, 7.5 miles of hiking trails. I am in charge of $1,480,779 worth of inventoried assets. For all documented vehicles I plan, schedule and coordinate all grounds maintenance and preventative maintenance activities for the week, which includes scheduling for each of my 26 employees, 3 permanent and 23 seasonal. I delegate multiple shifts and schedules (night crew). I plan, develop and execute annual work plans. I direct work assignments according to government regulations and OSHA/NPS approved SOPs. I write SOW for each project that is planned for the safety of the visitor and according to Cyclic maintenance. Create general management plans and set 1 to 10 maintenance plans in place to acquire funding to accomplish tasks. I operate/perform and assign trash truck duties to pick up refuse and distribute appropriately. As snow commander, I schedule snow plowing and salting of roads for safety concerns and am on call for emergency situations. I perform a yearly training on Snow maintenance and operations. I manage beach maintenance, by using beach cleaning machines and directing my crew around protected animals and plants. Look over Blueprints with contractors to make sure work gets done accordingly. Use of functional leadership is a must with my employees where assignments are put in place according to their expertise, we learn from each other and have less issues along the way. Show less
