  One of two interns assisting in the PIG-PARADIGM research project that evaluates the role of dietary trace minerals in regulating intestinal health, gut microbiome, and host resilience to enterotoxigenic E. Coli infection in post-weaning piglets. Primary responsibilities include pipetting, performing immunohistochemistry, analyzing results using the Image J software, observing and assisting in gene expression analysis and protein quantification, and will gain a thorough understanding of nutrient metabolism and intestinal physiology.Presented the research and data analyses at the UC Davis Undergraduate Research Conference Show less
