  With the William Pike Challenge, students are challenged in ways that simply can’t be achieved inside the classroom. Their self-worth and self-esteem grow. Their physical and mental well being improves. They develop a sense of purpose by thinking beyond themselves and giving back to others – something that many kids struggle with! For students, the positive outcomes are countless. During the William Pike Challenge, I completed the High Ropes Course at the Groynes, Hawdon Hut tramp, Cave Stream, Rakahuri Rage, Rangiora - Kaiapoi Fun Run, Lake Daniels night tramp, climbed 3 mountains; (Mt Richardson, Mt Thomas, Mt Grey), Started a new hobby (small bore rifle shooting), 20 hours of community Service; (Waimakariri Library, Rotary sausage sizzles, and Loburn school summer sounds concert) Show less

  The three-day Business Challenge is sponsored by bp, Ministry of Youth Development, University of Otago, Crimson and Young Enterprise Scheme. BP Business Challenge is a one of a kind, hands-on learning event where kids can develop their skills, get in front of business people and learn more about how a good business works. At a BP Business Challenge students: learn all about starting and running a business, get to know the business planning process, create and pitch their own business plans, develop life and employ-ability skills.   Mail Sorter at RD5, New Zealand Post. I sort the mail and parcels before they get delivered around the RD5 area. It starts at 6:00am, and finishes anytime before school. This shows the I am hard working, and have great work ethic. I have learned many skills, including strengthening my memory, as I have had to learn the postie route off by heart. I have great motivation, as waking up in the early hours of the morning can be tough sometimes. I have motivated myself to wake up, and get to work on time.   GirlBoss Edge: Law, Policy, Government Edition is a highly selective leadership accelerator program for high school aged young women. Through this 10 day program, I underwent high-level leadership training and received transformative mentoring from New Zealand's leading legal, policy, and political professionals. I worked in collaboration with companies such as Chapman Tripp, and DLA Piper; and organisation's such as the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Justice - to solve real world problems. Through this experience, I have been motivated and energized to continue to create change and innovate in sectors of Law, Policy, and Government.
