  I was the first point of contact for members of the public and licence holders, both via the phone and in-person appointments. My role initially was to process licence applications from receipt to issuing, covering mostly taxi licences but also scrap metal, premises, boat, charity and gambling licences. As time went by my duties advanced and I became solely responsible for supervising and conducting knowledge tests for taxi licence applicants, joined in with Friday/Saturday night visits with the Police to licensed premises as part of 'operation benison'.   Licensing Officer

  My role was to cover every aspect within the licensing team, including the processing of applications and enforcement and compliance activities with licence holders and premises. I was involved in the testing of a new computer software package for licensing and helped to improve it to the required standard. I was lead officer for premises licence hearings, and conducted interviews with taxi drivers when dealing with enforcement matters.

  I am currently the line manager for7 members of staff. I am lead officer for review hearings at the licensing committee and organise and carry out enforcement activities as part of the day to day job. I have additionally written numerous committee reports for additions or revisions to the licensing policy.
