  Below are my key responsibilities for this role: 1. Focal Point for Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Case Management- Coordinated with two GBV partners, Women's Aid Organisation (WAO) and International Catholic Migration Commission (ICMC), on GBV case management by regularly liaising with GBV partners to ensure support and services are delivered to the GBV survivor.- Chaired and facilitated monthly or quarterly GBV case conferences with GBV partners and provided technical advice on UNHCR internal processes to GBV partners.- Supported in drafting the Office's internal GBV Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)- Provided GBV Train the Trainer (ToT) training to the refugee community 2. Refugee Protections and Empowerment- Processing of urgent and emergency referrals received from the refugee-led groups by expediting the referrals to UNHCR's internal technical units. - Co-leading the Refugee Advisory Board (RAB) to ensure refugee participation in UNHCR programming as part of the Accountability to Affected People (AAP) effort, as well as empowering the refugees to advocate for issues affecting their protection with different stakeholders. - Providing capacity-building training to the refugees and asylum-seekers who serve as outreach volunteers under the UNHCR Outreach Volunteers Program (OVP). - Coordinating with the refugee-led groups on community contact tracing. 3. Community Outreach Activities - Conducting regular cultural orientation sessions for newly arrived refugees from diverse age groups, genders, and nationalities, focusing on life in Malaysia, local laws, customs, language basics, public/private transportation, healthcare access, and employment norms.- Constantly engaging and communicating with the refugee-led groups under my team in Klang Valley, Penang, Kedah, Johor, Malacca, and Negeri Sembilan in disseminating accurate and up-to-date UNHCR information to the refugee communities. Show less 1. Conducting interviews of refugees and asylum-seekers in order to assess their protection and assistance needs and collect information for registration and other related purposes.2. Overseeing the reception of refugees and asylum-seekers inquiring for derivative status applications, including preparation and arrangement of reception schedule, in coordination with the Registration Staging team and Scheduling team. 3. Carrying out protection counselling in order to identify and resolve the protection needs of asylum seekers and recognized refugees. 4. Conducting briefings and individual counselling to refugees and asylum-seekers on the derivative status related matters 5.
