  Under the direction of the commissioner I mapped the electrical system (Primary, Secondary Lines and Transformers). I used AutoCad software and completed mapping for the Port Elgin and Southampton Hydro Electric Utilities for two summers. (1998 and 1999). These local distribution companies later merged into Saugeen Shores Hydro and are now a part of Westario Power.

  Worked as a summer student in the Electrical Equipment department for (3) three summers (2000-2002) as Ontario Power Generation transitioned to Bruce Power. Assisted with preparation of electrical audit materials and managing of the Motor Control Center database for the plant.

  As an electrical designer I worked with the design team on municipal and commercial electrical building services as well as water and waste water treatment plant electrical services. I completed the preparation of electrical drawings and specifications to meet all required customer , regulatory and building code restraints.

  As a junior Engineer I continued to enhance my design experience by working on the electrical design of municipal and commercial buildings, including power supply, lighting, fire alarm and emergency services. I completed reviews and submissions of drawings to ensure ESA code compliance.

  Full time Amateur Athlete - Cross Country Skiing

  Competing internationally through my youth as a cross country skier, I took a break from my engineering career to chase my dream of representing Canada at the 2010 Olympics. As a founding member of Indi2010, an independent, athlete run, non-for profit organization, I worked with sponsors and industry representatives to obtain support to exclusively train and race. Highlights included working with motivated, goal driven individuals and being selected to represent Canada at the pre-Olympic World Cups held in Canmore, Alberta.These experiences shaped my management and continuous improvement philosophies.   As Manager of the Engineering and Locates department, I oversee the design, protection & controls, project management, meter service provider (MSP) and asset management functions of the utility. I am responsible for hiring and supervising employees, budgeting, and coordinating engineering activities with outside departments. I am committed to continuous improvement in all areas of my position and endeavour to engage my staff to do the same. As the Project Manager I was responsible for the management of all Part B Capital Projects undertaken by Thunder Bay Hydro. This included working with the Lines and Engineering departments to ensure a smooth execution of all projects. I was also responsible for establishing project scope, schedule and budgets. I ensured that these targets were met through the management resources, continuous reporting and contract administration.
