  • Developed and optimized lithography, metallization and lift-off processes for the fabrication of prototype field-effect transistors and photodiodes based on 2D semiconductors.• Designed and built a confocal microscopy system capable of performing low-temperature spectroscopic measurements at 2 μm resolution by performing optical alignment, spectrometer calibration and stray light analysis.• Realized automated spectroscopic measurements by developing Python-based instrument control programs which synchronize electrical, optical and motion control systems. Trained 7 lab members on the setup.• Wrote Python scripts to automate the collection, visualization and fitting of over 100 GB spectral data.• Investigated excitonic physics and electron-electron correlation effects in 2D semiconducting moiré superlattices using photoluminescence and reflectance contrast spectroscopy.• Characterized the photoresponses of several 2D semiconductors using photocurrent spectroscopy.• Published 20 peer-reviewed journal articles, including 5 first author and co-first author papers, in collaboration with 9 other lab members and multidisciplinary researchers from international institutions.
