      Combining my academic background with practical optometry and ergonomics experience, I offered a holistic approach to solving vision problems in the workplace. This included:- Consultancy services investigating visual comfort and visual demands in a variety of work environments, as well as - Pre-design advice for products and workplaces so that visual problems were not built into new designs.

      My responsibilities as Chairperson of the IEA Visual Ergonomics Technical Committee TC) included:- Chairing the Visual Ergonomics TC meeting at the Triennial IEA congress- Chairing executive committee meetings twice per year- Managing the list of members of the Visual Ergonomics TC- Writing and issuing a newsletter for the IEA Visual Ergonomics TC 3 times per year- Complete IEA official documents on behalf of the Visual Ergonomics TC, such as our Annual Report- Coordinating special projects within the IEA Visual Ergonomics TC, such as a special visual ergonomics edition of the journal WORK Show less

    • CIE TC 3-58 Visual Ergonomics and Digital Display Use

      I chaired an international committee within the CIE (International Commission on Illumination) that was tasked with revising CIE 60:1984 so that it is relevant to modern digital device use. The technical report will be on the topic of visual ergonomics and digital devices.
